The spark for this event came from a viral post exposing how women are constantly expected to move aside in public space.

The simple act of refusing to step away revealed a deeper truth: women are not just overlooked — they are systematically oppressed in the very spaces where they should belong.

To create an event for International Women’s Day that went beyond a traditional protest run — turning it into a movement and a platform to raise awareness about gender inequality in sports

From this, the motto was born: “We are not going anywhere, We are running EVERYWHERE”

On International Women’s Day, we turned this idea into action with the International Women+’s Day Protest Run at the women-owned BRLO Brwhouse in Berlin.

The motto “We are not going anywhere” carries a double meaning:

• A declaration of defiance — we will not yield, we will not be pushed aside.

• A reflection of reality — despite progress, women’s place in public space and sports often remains blocked, constrained, and resisted.

By transforming it into “We are not going anywhere, we are running everywhere,” the Protest Run shifted stagnation into momentum: a collective act of reclaiming the streets through movement.
